CIFF Guangzhou 2026: A Real-World Buyer’s Guide from a Foshan Local

CIFF Guangzhou 2026: A Real-World Buyer’s Guide from a Foshan Local

If you are in the furniture business—whether you’re an Amazon seller, a hotel developer, or a wholesaler—you already know about CIFF (China International Furniture Fair) in Guangzhou. It’s massive. It’s the world’s largest furniture exhibition, and in March 2026, it will once again fill the Pazhou Complex with thousands of exhibitors.

But here is the truth most guides won’t tell you: Walking into CIFF without a plan is a great way to waste three days and a lot of money. The booths are beautiful, the sales reps are polished, and the lighting is perfect. But a fancy booth doesn’t always mean a reliable factory. As a sourcing agent based just 45 minutes away in Foshan, we see the “behind the scenes” of these exhibitors every day.

Here is how to actually navigate CIFF 2026 and get the best results for your brand.

Which Phase should you attend?

CIFF is so big it is split into two phases. If you book your flights for the wrong week, you’ll miss your target products entirely.

  • Phase 1 (March 18–21, 2026): Focuses on Home Furniture. This is for you if you want sofas, dining tables, bedroom sets, or outdoor furniture. This is the “high-design” phase.
  • Phase 2 (March 28–31, 2026): Focuses on Office, Commercial, and Hotel Furniture, plus machinery and raw materials. If you are outfitting a workspace or a resort, this is your week.

Why a “Perfect” Booth is sometimes a Red Flag

Many overseas buyers get dazzled by the massive, two-story booths in the trendier halls. While these are often top-tier brands, many are trading companies that don’t own a single machine. They curate products from five different Foshan factories, add 20% to the price, and sell it to you as their own.

If you are a high-volume importer or an Amazon seller fighting for margins, you need to find the source. Our job during the fair is to help you “look under the hood.” We ask the technical questions about foam density, frame construction, and FSC certifications that help us identify who is a middleman and who is a manufacturer.

The “After-Fair” Strategy: The real business happens in Foshan

The fair is for looking; Foshan is for buying.

Guangzhou’s Pazhou complex is a showroom, but Foshan (Shunde and Longjiang) is the kitchen where the food is cooked. We always advise our clients to spend 2 days at the fair and at least 3 days in Foshan.

Why?

  1. See the Real Production: A factory might show you a beautiful sofa at the fair, but their actual workshop might be a disorganized mess with poor quality control. We take you to the factory floor to see the real daily production.
  2. Access the “Hidden” Showrooms: Many of the best-value factories in Longjiang don’t even exhibit at CIFF because they are already at capacity or don’t want to pay the high booth fees. We take you to these “local favorites” where prices are often 15-20% lower.
  3. Lecong Market Visits: While in the area, we can visit the Louvre or Sunlink markets in Lecong to see the latest retail trends and compare them with the wholesale prices we’re getting at the factories.

How we help you “Survive” CIFF 2026

If you hire us as your Foshan Agent for the 2026 fair, we don’t just stand there and translate. We act as your local partners:

  • Pre-Fair Vetting: Tell us what you need before you land. We’ll pre-screen a list of exhibitors and “hidden” Foshan factories so we don’t waste time.
  • Boots on the Ground: We provide the car and the driver. Getting a Didi or Taxi in Guangzhou during CIFF is a nightmare. We’ll pick you up from your hotel and drive you straight to the fair or the factories.
  • The “Agent” Discount: Factories often give different prices to a “walking-in foreigner” than they do to a local agent they work with all year. We know the “real” market price.
  • Consolidation: Found a dining table at one factory and chairs at another? We manage the collection, quality control, and loading of your mixed container in our Foshan warehouse.

FAQ: Planning Your 2026 CIFF Trip

Q: Is it too early to book for March 2026?

A: No. Hotels near the Pazhou complex and in Shunde fill up months in advance. If you wait until February, you’ll pay double the price for a room that is an hour away from the action.

Q: Do I need a visa for CIFF?

A: Yes, most nationalities need a Business (M) visa. We can help provide the necessary invitation letters through the fair’s official channels or our partner factories.

Q: Can I buy just a few pieces for my own home?

A: CIFF is a wholesale fair. Most exhibitors won’t sell individual pieces. However, if you are looking for personal use, we can take you to the Lecong Furniture Markets after the fair, where individual sales are common.

Q: What is the MOQ at the fair?

A: For standard designs, many factories ask for a 1x20GP container or at least 10-20 units per style. As your agent, we can often negotiate this down if we are combining your order with other clients.
